About the role

Finance Systems Accountant provides a range of quality financial data management services with respect to WorkSafe’s (WSV) expansive financial reporting delivery obligations. Reporting to the Manager, Finance Operations, the incumbent ensures data availability, data integrity and development of WSV’s Oracle Cloud enterprise software (ERP) finance system through managing structures, worksheets and processes to enable efficient actuals, forecast and budget reporting.

The incumbent also supports the wider Financial Services team in leading the technical and operating environment’s shift in focus from a transactional, predominantly compliance oriented, finance-processing function to that of a provider of tools for creating value and information to support key decisions.

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Management of Finance ERP Analyst to deliver timely system change requests and outstanding customer service by taking an active role in setting work priorities, review of work completed, mentoring and support
  • Provide specialist technical knowledge of Oracle Cloud ERP configuration gained through finance systems implementation experience, and as a subject matter expert, provide strategic advice on continuous improvement and areas of technical expertise relating to Oracle Cloud and it’s inter-dependent systems
  • Management of third party support contracts to deliver against agreed SLA’s, as well as prioritisation of support tickets and using commercial and technical acumen to resolve issues on behalf of the business.
  • Be responsible for ensuring information required for new business requirements and changes to business structures are complete and adequate to ensure changes to the ERP systems, processes and reports are carried out efficiently and support end-user requirements.
  • Build and maintain budget, forecasting and reporting models using sound management accounting principles.

About you

You are an agile and proactive operator who is looking to make a difference. You have highly-developed communication skills, with the ability to interact with and gain commitment from a diversity of stakeholders. The successful candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of financial business systems in medium or large-scale organisations including development of associated manuals and documentation
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in Oracle Cloud (or similar large-scale ERP) enterprise software, Business Intelligence, Budgeting and Forecasting with experience in SQL, Business ETL & Report Writing
  • Proven experience and ability to maintain and upgrade finance systems, implement new system solutions and ensure smooth running of existing systems
  • Demonstrated leadership in investigation and problem solving, including the ability to interpret data and identify issues and trends
  • Strong commitment to promoting and encouraging continuous improvement strategies, within a team environment, for the delivery of accurate and timely financial services to all stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, IT systems or related disciplines are essential
