The Role

The APS5 Project Officer will work in a branch focussed on collaborating with state and territory governments, ministers, officials and mainstream interfaces to inform policy decisions with legislation, obligations and priorities align with the organisations intent.

This is a 12 month assignment, based in Geelong, paying $45.74 per hour plus super. As this role is with Federal Government, you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to be considered.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Gather and collate documents required under notice, ensuring appropriate consultation with document owners and SME’s
• Interpret and distil information in order to provide briefings to senior leaders
• Assist in discrete project management and coordination tasks
• Undertake research, analyse and interpret patterns and trends and record findings
• Provide thorough information and effective support to internal and external stakeholders
• Provide administrative support within the team as required

Please note: This role may include interstate travel.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate the following -

• Ability to acquire and maintain a well-developed understanding of relevant statutory, regulatory and policy frameworks applied to a variety of activities
• Ability to build strong knowledge of the role and the functions of the organisation
• Previous experience following well-defined and detailed policies, technical or professional guidelines to achieve results
• Experience coordinating competing requests and demands, setting priorities and managing workflows
• Previous experience working on a variety of tasks which may require researching and organising information
• Ability to liaise with stakeholders on complex policy, project or operational issues and responding to stakeholders needs and expectations
